We follow the Corona measures
You will dance (and preferably sign up) with a fixed partner, there will be no rotation. If you sign up solo, you will be assigned to a dance partner (if available) who will be your fixed dance partner for the entire block.
If the government recommendations change, rotation of partners may become possible but will be voluntary. The number of students who can join the first block of lessons September-October 2020, will be limited to the size of the room in order to maintain social distance.

Can I sign up on my own?
Yes! You do not need a partner to register! We rotate during the lesson so that you will dance with lots of different people. In order to maintain a good leader-follower balance, we sometimes have a waiting list. If you want to be sure to get a spot in the beginners’ class (Lindy A), you can indicate in your registration form that you are ok to dance as leader or follower.
Can I do the first class as try-out?
It is not possible to take the first lesson as a try out (see also terms and conditions) but you can join a taster lesson at one of our dance events – check the calendar and announcements here on the website.
When can I sign up?
Registrations open about four weeks before the new block starts (keep an eye on our website). In order to maintain a good leader-follower balance, we sometimes have a waiting list. If you want to be sure to get a spot, you can sign up with a partner or indicate in your registration form that you are ok to dance as leader or follower.
What are followers and leaders?
Lindy Hop is danced in couples (a pair consisting of a lead and a follow). The lead typically initiates the movements and the follow responds. Both men and women take the role of lead or follow although traditionally, men dance more often as leads and women as follows.
Do I need special clothes/shoes?
No, but please wear clean indoor shoes that do not leave marks or scratches on the nice wooden dance floor. You can wear normal, comfortable clothes and you might want to bring a bottle of water to class.
Do I have to be super fit to dance Lindy Hop?
No, the beginner lessons are not too taxing. You might discover though that Lindy Hop improves your fitness in a relaxed and enjoyable way! If you have any physical problems, please first check with your doctor if you can join dancing lessons.
What if I miss a class?
We make recap videos that you can watch at home to practice. You can also ask your fellow students and teachers for help during the practice time after class.
I have done other dances before, can I start in a higher level?
Normally not. We encourage everyone to start in Lindy A because Lindy Hop is different from other partnered dances, being a very relaxed and bouncy dance. But when in doubt, come to a taster class at one of our social dances and talk to the teachers.
Can I take more than one class?
Yes! Once you have moved to level B or C, you can help out in lower level Lindy Hop classes for free – if there is space.
