We have four tracks of Lindy Hop classes (Lindy A, B, B+/C, fast track). Lindy A and B are taught by our super fun local Nijmegen teachers; our higher B+/C level and the fast dancing track are taught by guest instructors. You can find the class flow scheme here.

Note: We may recommend that students take a different level of class to that which they initially choose, to ensure that the groups are homogeneous and to have a balanced ratio of leaders and followers in class. If you have any questions, please come and talk to us.

Lindy beginner (level A) This is a course for Lindy Hop complete beginners and for those who did not attend enough of the Lindy A classes in the previous block and need to continue to focus on their basics (indeed, even advanced dancers should also always work on their basic technique, it’s the main way to improve!). The aim of this course is to get you on the social dance floor as soon as possible, by learning the standard steps and figures and some Lindy Hop technique. You do not need any previous dance experience to take part.

Taught by: Nijmegen Teachers (Fridays)

Lindy beginner-intermediate (level B) This is a course for Lindy Hop beginner-intermediate dancers, i.e. for those who have been dancing in Lindy A or Lindy B in the previous block. This course will expand your repertoire of figures and footwork variations and dig deeper into the details of Lindy Hop technique. You’ll learn some new technique and step deeper into the world of 1930s Lindy Hop and Charleston. Dancers in this level are already familiar with the basic moves and technique taught in Lindy A (like triple steps versus groove walks, 6ct and 8ct moves). You enjoy social dancing and come to dances whenever you can.

Lindy intermediate (level B+/C)

In this class you will practice to refine your technique, connection and stretch, and play with adding musicality, variations and style to your dancing. You have probably been to several workshops both in Nijmegen and outside.  Since you have been dancing for quite a while, you might have your own ideas on what you would like to focus on in class. Your teachers will ask for suggestions and incorporate the most popular and exciting ideas into your classes!

Admission:You have taken weekly lessons and gone social dancing for at least 8 months. You can dance multiple clean swing-outs in a row on a song of 150bpm (try out here) and have learned to dance some Charleston variations like hand to hand and chase into tandem.
The level of this class is between Lindy B and Lindy C (see class flow), so you should have already danced for at least two blocks in Lindy B. Please note that you must fulfill the admission requirements in the role for which you are signing up.

Lindy fast track (level C+)
We will work on fast Lindy Hop dancing in this class! Expect music of 180bpm+ and demanding training.

Admission: This class has a high speed in teaching and dancing. It is meant for experienced dancers who may even have outgrown our standard level Lindy C, with a majority being local teachers from the Nijmegen scene. To join, you must be able to comfortably dance multiple swing-outs in a row on songs of 180bpm – check here and be honest with yourself! – and be comfortable dancing Charleston variations like tandem also at higher speed. You are interested in working on basic technique and body control more than in moves or variations.
Please note that your registration will be reviewed to keep the level high. If we do not know your dancing level, we can invite you to audition or send in a video.

Not sure which class to sign up for? You can always ask your teacher after class or approach us at a social dance. If you haven’t danced with Lindy What before, please pick the level that you think fits best and describe your prior dance experience in the comment section (tell us how long you have danced before, whether you go social dancing, and what you would like to work on in class. This will give us an idea which level is the best fit for you.
