What’s Hop? Festival: Venues

What’s Hop!? takes place in the home town of Lindy What? in NIJMEGEN. All locations can be easily reached by public transport from Nijmegen Central Station or by car (parking available close to the venues, see below).

  • Theatercafe

Saturday party: Just as last time, we will celebrate at the wonderful Theatercafé at the Stadsschouwburg. With >350m2 of wooden dance floor, we had some amazing feedback about how great a dance venue this is! It is only a three minute walk from Nijmegen central station and right next to a parking garage (50ct/hour).

    Stadsschouwburg
    Keizer Karelplein 32H
    6511 NH Nijmegen

  • The Sunday afternoon party will take place at

    Kolpinghuis Nijmegen
    Smetiusstraat 1
    6511 ER Nijmegen

As above, it is just three minutes walk from Nijmegen central station and very close to the aforementioned parking garage.

Please note that you will need to bring cash if you want to buy drinks at the bar, they don’t have a chip reader. Cash machines are available at the nearby Keizer Karelplein.

  • Classes: Please note new location! These will be held at Sporthal Triangel Lent, which can be reached by train from Nijmegen Centraal to Nijmegen Lent, just one stop away, and then a few minutes walk. Similarly you can take bus 331 from Nijmegen CS (richting Arnhem CS).

    Sporthal Triangel
    Griftdijk Noord 9B
    6663 AA Lent

If you are coming to class by train from Nijmegen Centraal to Nijmegen Lent (just one stop), it will save you a lot of time if you sit at the very front part of the train and get off at the point marked with the small black circle in the map below, rather than the main station, marked with the big black circle. Then go down the stairs, under the bridge and follow the blue dotted line.

Accommodation:

You can look for a local host on the facebook group of the event. There are also plenty of Air BnB options. Otherwise, here are some other conveniently located suggestions:

More generally, most of the (cheaper) options are listed here:

These lists are by no means exhaustive, just some ideas! Parking in the city centre can be tricky. There are large parking garages on the Kaizer Karelplein and at the Molenport. There is also the P&R service via the Waalsprinter.
If you are prepared for a short walk, you can go a bit out of the centre and you should be able to find a space. If you are using buses, trains, bicycles and feet then everything is easy! (9292.nl is your friend!)

Supermarket “Jan Linders” in Nijmegen Lent:

There is a supermarket about 10 minutes walk from the class venue, should you need sustenance. Follow the path that goes past the Fire Station (opposite the Triangle). You’ll find the tunnel on the right and then it’s just on the left side of the next roundabout.
