Monday Night Practice Sessions

For those who want to dance even more, there is an open practice session on Monday night, organized by a group of Lindy Hop dancers from Nijmegen. These sessions are free and open to anyone interested – you do not have to be a student in order to attend. The sessions are a good way to practice what you learned in class and to get more confident in social dancing, so you might want to check them out! Here is the organizers’ announcement:

“Hello (future) Lindy Hop dancers! We are a group of Lindy Hop enthusiasts from Nijmegen Oost and we meet regularly to practice together. Would you like to try out a cool step that you saw in a youtube video? Practice steal dancing? Go over that one Charleston step again? Then join our open practice session!
We meet every* Monday from 20:00 to 21:00 at a community centre in Nijmegen Oost. The rooms have a nice slippery floor, so please bring clean indoor shoes!

These are informal meetings, anyone interested in swing dancing is welcome to join, whether you are currently taking classes or not. There is no need to bring a partner but feel free to bring your music, ideas or cake.
These are also not lessons, we meet to dance and practice together. Beginners are welcome, too – don’t be shy!
If you’re interested to join, it would be great if you could first send an email to to let us know, because we need to keep track a bit of who is coming. We will send you the address and room number etc. There is also a facebook group for people who come regularly; just ask us to add you to that group if you want to get involved! We’re always happy to have more people, so feel welcome!

*The next practice dates in 2017 are February 13, 20, March 6, 13, 20, 27, April 10, 24; May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; June 12, 19, 26; july 3, 10. Address: Wijkcentrum Daalsehof, Daalsehof 2, Nijmegen”

(Disclaimer: Please note that these are informal meetings organised by dancers, not by the Lindywhat club. We cannot guarantee that all meetings take place. If you have any questions, please direct them to the emailaddress given in the announcement!)
